I've mentioned several times that I tend to take a camera with me wherever I go. These contrasting advertisements give you an idea why.

It's hard to see what these billboards say, because I was trying to take the photo at a less than ideal angle, from a distance, through a train window.

However, if you download this photo and then zoom in, you will be richly rewarded.

The one on the left is an appeal by a charity called Oxfam, stating that some people can't afford staple foodstuffs like bread and rice.

The one on the right is an appeal to potential holidaymakers to try the Bahamas.

This unfortunate juxtaposition is genuine; that is to say, the photo hasn't been fiddled with.

Perhaps a useful exercise for your students might be to take a picture that depicts two highly-contrasting viewpoints or sets of circumstances.
